Out With The Old, In With The New or Swap.com

I was searching the internet one night when I came upon a website called
swap.com

I started checking it out and signed up as a member. You list the type of media that you have to swap (stuff taking up room and you no longer want it) like Books, CD's, DVD's, and video games. Games are your ticket to happiness, more later.

So you list what media you have to trade by entering the ISBN code on the back of all media (it is listed above the barscan). And your selection pops up and you hit the enter key and it is now listed in your HAVE file.

After that you start listing your WANTS, and you can enter an author's name, or the title, or just a subject and selections come up for you to which to choose.

Now the swapping begins and some Software program matches you haves with your wants and another members haves and wants. If it is a match, you will receive an email that allows you to accept it or reject it. Clever!

Or if you go to your HAVE list and their is a little green dot with an + sign inside it will list all the stuff (some useless) you can get or trade.

This is where the video games are a big trader (swapper) whatever. I listed a Wii game called "Zelda, Twilight Princess". (Yes, I own this, can't do it, it's way to hard, even though a five or six year old would find it elementary) and LO and Behold I had 124,678 items I could choose.

If you have a printer at home, it is extremely easy to swap. I swapped a Book last night called "Perfection" a new book, for a book that my daughter wanted. I ACCEPTED the TRADE and then I printed the mailing label from my at home printer and wrapped it in bubble wrap, put it in a envelope, put the mailing label on, put it in my mailbox and SENT IT. You list a credit card and once a month they deduct the charges. Media charges are fairly cheap, to send that book was only $3.21. I should be receiving my book in 7-10 days. There are safe guards they have set up and if the trading partner doesn't send their Trade, swap.com buys the book and sends it to you and charges that member. So you have to follow through, and you have to do it, in a timely manner, very timely, like the next day. But if you have all the office equipment at home (printer) and go to the store and buy some shipping materials, all ya gotta do is put it in your mailbox.

And for only approx. 3 buckaroos, my daughter has the BOOK she was going to BUY!

I have only made a few trades, and I haven't traded my games yet. But a interesting fact is everytime I select a sewing book, or craft book, the item they want of mine is my copy of
The Biggest Loser
funny how that always come up.

So that is my BLOG today, something kinda FUN and CHEAP to do, to GET the THINGS you want and only have to pay a FRACTION of the cost! Makes sense to me, this is a
Great Deal. Also on the website they will be branching out to other types of items. You will be able to get rid of all that Baby Stuff and get Toddler Stuff or get rid of that Camping Stuff and get some other junk you NEED.
